The food is absolutely amazing. The rib plate combo is a crazy good deal even in 2025. They're so well cooked, especially the crunchy cartilage. Had a hard time actually deciding on what to eat because everything sounded so good.
Wow wow wow. It was one of the best meals I have had in a very long time! I don't get biscuits and gravy very often because most places aren't very good but this place has if not best they tied for best ever. The country fried steak was amazing. I have spent some time in the south and they did better than most places down there. Again wow loved the food there. From out of town but going to put on my travel plans to make sure I try more things on the menu when I am anywhere close to it.
We have passed by Sarom's in the course of our adventures many times and have noticed how busy it seems to be. That’s a great sign that the food is good, prices are reasonable, or both. We tend to eat outside of the busy hours and found it to be about half full. Dining area is basic. No fuss booths with tables and chairs filling the middle. We both ordered omelettes and chose the option of biscuits and gravy over toast. These were probably some of the BEST we’ve had in quite some time. Very fluffy, not dry, savory gravy. Hubby chose country potatoes and I chose grits to accompany our meals. ( grits were meh) Then we ordered two waffles to share. Sounds like a lot but our plan was for leftovers. This is where the breakdown happened. Our food arrived strangely in random order. First came a biscuit with gravy alone. I love to eat my biscuits and gravy mixed with my meal. Not as an appetizer. About the time we finished, the waffles appeared. Then later, the omelettes, arrived one at a time. As two foodies, we have a certain way of going about our meal. First we do savory, then end with a waffle or similar like it’s dessert. I guess this was an eat dessert first day. Coffee was never refilled and check backs didn’t really happen. As for the food, it was great! Tasted wonderful and cooked exactly to order for a reasonable price. We had plenty of leftovers. Servers seemed to have been short the day we visited which definitely impacted our experience. Food. Just. Trickled. In. Yes. We will be back if we are ever in the area and ready for good food in hopes that the service we experienced was just an anomaly and not the norm. Servers were very friendly when we interacted with them. Btw… their restrooms are exceptionally clean!
The food was very delicious, service was fast, and the waiter was very polite. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants good quality food.
Our first time here for breakfast and it’s a Gem of a place! Very clean, music on point and we got there before the rush. We had hot chocolate, then i got scrambled eggs with country potatoes and corned beef hash, and my daughter got the Monica special (omelette). The portions matches the price and the food was scrumptious!
We ordered a little bit of everything to start off our morning. We’ve drove by this place many times as we’ve lived here since the beginning of time.. once we walked in, we found Beautiful plants that are well loved. A younger lady greeted us with the biggest smile and told us to have a seat anywhere we’d like. A younger gentleman then took our drink order and brought us pretty decent coffee… He seemed like a sweet young man. I overheard him tell a regular customer that he was getting ready to go into the Air Force I believe… It was nice to witness such an intimate conversation between them. You could tell the young man was busy as he needed to get too many tables however he still took the time and had this conversation with this older gentleman… Respect and manners goes a long way. I wish nothing but the most success for this young man. Anyways, back to the food.., We ordered the chicken and waffles, which were amazing. The chicken that came with it was thin and seasoned. The waffles were thin. It was a perfect ratio. We ordered the cheesy grits which tasted just like Home. The breakfast potatoes were also on point. I seriously am counting down the days till when I can return.
Incredible Southern kitchen nestled in the del Paso heights area. This is feel good, family food with no shortage of butter, biscuits, and heart. Got my order to go, but even the to go was packaged with consideration and care. The gumbo was what brought me here, and it still looks just as good in the to-go container at home as it would have in a bowl in-restaurant.
I’ve been here multiple times throughout the last 4 years and every time it doesn’t disappoint at all. The go to is their fried catfish is perfectly seasoned and the breading on it is not to thick it’s thin and crispy it’s the second best thing on the menu in my opinion and you have to pair it with the side of Mac’n cheese and collard greens. They have THE BEST collard greens in the city. The collard greens is the best thing on the menu. The chicken and waffles is amazing perfectly crispy and seasoned well not too spicy I’d say it’s a good contender against Roscoe’s chicken and waffles in LA. The biscuits and gravy was hella good. The gravy is very flavorful and not overly floured it’s a great consistency not too thick or runny. The omelette is huge so you definitely get your moneys worth with that. I don’t have much to say about the pancakes a lot of places can make a great pancake, that doesn’t mean it was bad it just an item that can’t really be messed up. If you’re thinking of coming here please do but make sure you get here before 11:30am it gets packed and busy until around 2pm. They don’t have any restrictions on when they start serving lunch. The full menu is available no matter what time you arrive. They are also available on DoorDash.
